Prime Video reveals its Halloween bet, Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End, with a premiere scheduled for October 31.
The action-survival-adventure film, based on the best-selling book by Manel Loureiro and directed by Carles Torrens (Sky Rojo, Feria, Animal de compañía), had its world premiere on October 5 at the Sitges Film Festival. Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End will be available on Prime Video on October 31 in over 240 countries and territories worldwide as part of the Prime subscription.

Francisco Ortiz (¡García!, El Cid) plays Manel, the main character of Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End. The cast also includes Jose María Yazpik (Narcos) as Pritchenko, Berta Vázquez (Vis a vis, Un hípster en la España vacía) as Lucía, María Salgueiro (Vis a Vis, Desaparecidos) as Sister Cecilia, Amalia Gómez (Hotel Almirante) as Gabriela, Marta Poveda (El sustituto, Antidisturbios) as Belén, Iria del Río (Las niñas de cristal, Antidisturbios), Yuri Mikhaylychenko (La unidad), and Oriol Ruiz.
In Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End, a strange rabies-like disease spreads across the planet, turning people into aggressive creatures. But Manel (Francisco Ortiz) has been living his apocalypse for some time; he has not yet overcome the loss of his wife in an accident and has been depressed and isolated from his family for a year, with Lúculo, his cat, as his only company. When the disease worsens, his sister insists he leave Vigo and join her in the Canary Islands, but the plan fails. Manel has to take refuge in his home, using his intelligence and skill to survive. However, he and Lúculo are quickly forced to leave, finding unlikely but essential travel companions by land and sea. Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End is the story of a duel, a journey of survival, both physical and emotional, with action, tension, rabid infected, a bit of blood… and a grumpy cat.
This original film is a production of Nostromo Pictures with Núria Valls as executive producer alongside Adrián Guerra, who acts as producer. The screenplay is written by Ángel Agudo.
