Tiqets and Thyssen Museum renew partnership with special bus to celebrate LGBTQI+ pride in Madrid

For the second consecutive year, Tiqets, the leading online platform for selling tickets to museums and attractions, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, which owns one of the most important collections in the world, including works by Monet, Picasso and Van Gogh, have joined forces to celebrate Pride in Madrid.

Madrid Pride is one of the largest in the world, drawing millions of people to the city every year to celebrate LGBTQI+ pride and diversity.

The ticket sales platform and the cultural institution will come together to sponsor a bus that will parade in the Madrid Pride March, with the support of the Community of Madrid. The bus will feature live music and drinks, as well as local artists and creators from the LGBTQI+ community.

Miranda Makaroff, artist, designer, sculptor and Spanish actress, will design the bus that will travel through Madrid on July 1st. Her works have a unique style, full of vibrant colors and different patterns, having already been exhibited in collections in Miami, Ibiza and Madrid. Her irreverence has led to collaborations with brands such as Desigual and a community of nearly 500,000 followers on Instagram. Makaroff’s design will be inspired by the ‘Versiona Thyssen’ competition and will include reinterpretations of works of art from the Thyssen Museum’s vast collection.

We are thrilled to partner with the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, for the second time, to co-sponsor our Pride bus. It is exciting to join the vibrant celebration of the LGBTQIA+ Pride parade, showcasing the power of art and culture to promote togetherness and acceptance. Our participation reflects our commitment to inclusion and to creating a happy and authentic experience for all. We are honored to be part of this incredible event once again, contributing to the festive atmosphere of Madrid “, says Laurens Leurink, CEO of Tiqets.

The ‘Tiqets x Thyssen Pride Bus’ also serves as a launch point for a special edition of the popular contest #VersionaThyssen – co-sponsored by the Community of Madrid, the Japanese brand Uniqlo and Prio Art Space. Organized by the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, the competition requires entrants to create their own version of one of the museum’s iconic artworks. This year, the works of art will be themed on symbols and figures related to Diverse Love in the LGBTQI+ community.

The Versiona Thyssen contest runs until the 2nd of July. Winners will be announced on July 15th.
