Renowned Danish dance-pop group AQUA and DJ and music producer Tiësto team up for the first remix of AQUA’s iconic hit “Barbie Girl”.
This is the first time that a remix of the Barbie anthem has been officially released by AQUA and celebrates the inevitable new era of Barbie. This grandiose recreation of the song was inspired by Tiësto’s daughter, as they were brought together by her love of the original song.
“Barbie Girl” reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1997, accumulated over 9 billion streams worldwide and a billion views of the official video on YouTube. The theme also has over 1 million videos using sound on TikTok with over 2.7 billion views.
Lately, the original version has seen an incredible increase in consumption due to the 25th anniversary of the song and the release of the upcoming trailer for the movie “Barbie”, during which the chorus of the song is heard. Tiësto’s new version of the 1990s hit will make listeners fall in love with the song all over again and is now available on digital platforms.
