Next Sunday, March 13, at 5 pm, Casino Estoril will host a show of solidarity for the victims of the war in Ukraine.
The public will be able to watch the performances of the dance and singing group of young people from the Estoril Ukrainian School, the Cascais and Oeiras Dance Schools, the Mais Música Coro, the Coro dos Antigos Orfeonistas of the University of Coimbra and the lyrical singing group, Spiritual Mosaic.
Casino Estoril is therefore associated with this solidarity event promoted by the Rotary Club of Oeiras, in collaboration with the other Clubs of the Estoril region, bringing together Algés, Alfragide, Carnaxide, Cascais-Estoril, Parede-Carcavelos and Sintra.
The solidarity show is an initiative of the Rotary movement that puts Portuguese culture and music at the service of solidarity with Ukraine, stirring consciences and collecting funds to support the victims of the war in this martyred country, which will revert fully to victims of the war in Ukraine, through District 2332 in Ukraine, which is working in partnership with Rotary Districts 1960 and 1970 in Portugal.
The Ambassador of Ukraine, the President of the Association of Ukrainians in Portugal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mayors of the Municipalities of Oeiras, Cascais, Sintra and Amadora, along with the Governor of our District 1960, Companheiro Paulo Martins, will be present.
António Ribeiro, President of the Rotary Club, says: “The martyred People of Ukraine cry out for our action, for our help, for our solidarity and for the warmth of our brotherhood. Millions of innocent Ukrainians, who were without reason mowed the lighthouse of hope, suffer the horrors of war and beg on the roads of despair for the bread of children and grandchildren, on an uncertain journey in times of darkness! The Rotary movement, founded with the aim of promoting peace among men, could not remain oblivious to this tragic reality! So we did, we decided to act!”.
“In the same way that wars and tragedies, unfortunately, do not choose the time, the solidarity responses to them are also not programmed or anticipated! The time we have is short and the task is a huge challenge! We are convinced, however, that we will be able to overcome it! We need your help!” concludes António Ribeiro, Rotary Club President.
