Seixal Bay Nautical Festival takes place this Saturday and will feature the participation of several boats.
The 6th edition of the Baía do Seixal Nautical Festival takes place from June 23 to July 2, and is one of the main highlights of the 2023 program of the Popular Festivals of S. Pedro do Seixal. Seixal, which takes place on the 24th of June (Saturday), will have the participation of several vessels and the routes aboard the traditional frigate boat «Baía do Seixal».
The mayor of Seixal, Paulo Silva, says that «this festival is already a reference in our municipality and attracts, annually, thousands of visitors and nautical enthusiasts. We hope that this year, we can maintain and improve the quality of this event so closely linked to the Tagus River and its people».
The Nautical Festival, which has been held since 2017, aims to promote recreational boating and, at the same time, traditional boats as a living heritage of the Tagus River, as well as the healthy interaction between crews, owners and other actors in the sector, providing the public in general moments of enjoyment of trips in traditional boats and scenic enjoyment of Seixal Bay.
On the first day (24th), between 5 pm and 6 pm, the boats that will take part in the Nautical Parade that will take place on the same day, between 7.30 pm and 8.30 pm, are scheduled to arrive at the Baía do Seixal Nautical Station. Rides on traditional boats will take place almost daily (see the program at www.cm-seixal.pt), and registrations must be made online.
