The future is digital! Recodme prepares professionals to help companies and businesses in technological acceleration

[dropcap]R[/dropcap]ecodme started to be carried out entirely at a distance, preserving all its features. The career conversion program for the Innovation and Technology sector is free for trainees and is supported by the Professional Training Service of Lisbon, from the Employment and Professional Training Institute (IEFP). Theoretical classes and mentoring actions are now carried out by the Microsoft Teams platform. The practical component remains on the main axis of training, maximizing the knowledge of the trainees in order to better insert them in the market, currently most in need of professionals who help the digitalization of companies and businesses.

The initial stage of the program, face-to-face training, was extended until the end of July after a stop due to constraints caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. It will be followed by the inclusion of participants in vocational training in the workplace, namely in one of the five companies that drive the Recodme initiative – agap2IT, Bee Engineering, KCS iT, Adentis and Decode.

Currently in their homes, trainees are trained with computer equipment that helps them to shorten distances and receive the best knowledge.

Rebecca Santos, Program Manager at Recodme says, “Given the situation created by Covid-19, companies, and people need, more than ever, to adapt quickly to change. Recodme has readjusted itself and is now helping young people to change the course of their professional careers with distance training so that they can participate in the necessary digital acceleration of companies and businesses. In times of greater uncertainty, training plays a fundamental role. We are preparing new talents to embrace the opportunities that will arise in the near future”.

The first edition of the Recodme program started in February with 20 participants. At no cost to them, it is requalifying them for the Innovation and Technology sector, where the need for human resources is to be noted qualified if it has been accentuated in Portugal.

It is supported by the IEFP Active Life Measure program, which grants a training grant, food and transport subsidies. Successful trainees are guaranteed employment in the five companies that promote the initiative.

The program was designed to last seven months, with the initial training taking place in the classroom during the first four months – followed by 300 hours in the context of work at one of the partner entities.
