In 1934, the Estado Novo presented itself to the world with a Colonial Exhibition where the virile Portuguese Empire displayed Rosinha, a native Guinean, as its maximum symbol. “Rosinha e Outro Bichos do Mato” revisits this event to understand what was built into it and how it can still resonate today in the alleged “soft racism” of the Portuguese.
