Beatriz Carvalho today won the Miss Quebramar Cup, a special and exclusively female stage that took place in Ílhavo, Costa Nova.
In the most feminine event in Portuguese surfing that counts towards the national title, the 19-year-old athlete defeated Gabriela Dinis in the final with a score of 10.85 points while her opponent scored 10.50.
In a close final and with challenging sea conditions, the local surfer from Costa de Caparica was more selective, surfing only two waves (5.25 + 5.60 points) while Gabriela was more active, scoring 6.50 and 4.00 points in the best two.
n the first day of the competition, Rounds 1 and 2 were held, highlighting Gabriela Dinis who had the best wave and score of the day with 6.50 and 12.00 points, respectively. Beatriz Carvalho, Lua Escudeiro, and Maria Dias were also in good shape.
On the last day of the race, in the first semi-final, Beatriz Carvalho defeated Maria Salgado while in the second heat of this phase, Gabriela Dinis raised the level of surfing to the level of excellence with a wave of 8.00 points (best wave of the event ) defeating Lua Escudeiro with a total of 14.25 points (best score of the event).
Maria Salgado and Lua Escudeiro finished the race in 3rd place ex-aequo.
Beatriz Carvalho is thus the champion of the Miss Quebramar Cup in what is her first victory in a stage of the national circuit in this category. The women’s surf party took place again in Ílhavo in what was the 19th edition of the event.
The Miss Quebramar Cup is a special event that scores for the female national ranking and takes place on the sidelines of the MEO Surf League, the main surfing competition in Portugal. It is organized by the Surf Association of Aveiro, with the technical support of the Federation Portuguesa de Surf and the National Association of Surfers.
