Applications for awards and distinctions within the scope of the new format of the Sport Gala of the Municipality of Faro for the year 2021 are open until the 2nd of May.
Given the impossibility of holding the Sports Gala in 2020 due to the pandemic situation, Faro City Council approved on April 19, the regulation and calendar for a new format for the 2021 Sports Gala.
This new model foresees an event that responds to the desires of the sports associations and practitioners in the municipality, recognizing and valuing the sports agents that stood out during the sports season in different modalities, bearing in mind, however, all the rules and guidelines of the health authorities and motivation to not promote clusters.
The new regulation also provides for the need to adapt the original calendar to this new reality, with shorter deadlines for the submission and analysis of applications, as well as the definition of an extended time for the celebration of the event.
In this sense, applications are open until the 2nd of May, followed by a phase of analysis of applications, which will take place from the 3rd to the 8th of May and the sending of the proposed list of nominees and distinguished to the meeting camera for deliberation.
The delivery of distinctions and prizes within the scope of this format of the Sports Gala will be carried out through a phase of restricted visits to associations with distinguished athletes, which will take place between the 18th of May and the 18th of June.
