Coca-Cola starts testing paper bottles

After having presented a prototype of a paper bottle at the end of the year 2020, Coca-Cola will deliver the innovative packaging to consumers.

The tests will be carried out in the second quarter of 2021 in Hungary and two thousand bottles will be offered with AdeZ, a plant-based drink that is part of the North American brand portfolio.

The goal is to understand the public’s reaction to this format and study the reception of this packaging for other drinks that are produced by the brand.

This bottle is 100% recyclable and produced with sustainable wood and a biological barrier that allows resistance to liquids, but also to CO2 and oxygen. The paper wrapper, whose cover is plastic, also has a thin plastic coating, also recyclable, on the inside.
