On September 18, Oeiras Parque launched the “DESIGN A PRÉMIO” competition, seeking to develop a new line of furniture for its relaxation areas. The winning creation will be produced and installed in the shopping centre, and its author will be entitled to a monetary prize of 10 thousand euros.
In addition to the need to create more resting areas, the Shopping da Linha aims to promote innovation and support the development of design in Portugal, while fostering sustainability, as participants will be challenged to create a line of furniture using sustainable materials in line with the shopping’s decor.
This competition thus represents an opportunity for designers, architects, students, and other creatives to showcase their talent and creativity.
The jury for the competition will consist of recognized figures in the national design landscape, namely Guta Moura Guedes, Nini Andrade Silva, and Paulo Parra, as well as representatives from Mundicenter and SOTA.
“We are excited to see the projects that creatives will design to transform and improve our relaxation areas. We want to engage everyone who visits Oeiras Parque and encourage them to actively participate in creating solutions that meet our clients’ comfort and the latest trends,” says Fernando Oliveira, administrator of the Mundicenter Group.
The competition process will be conducted in several phases. The application submission period is from September 18 to November 10, during which candidates can submit their projects for evaluation. After analyzing the applications, the finalist proposals will be announced on November 25. The finalists will have until December 12 to submit detailed projects in CAD format and images. Subsequently, the public will have the opportunity to vote on the final proposals between December 16, 2024, and January 10, 2025. The announcement of the winning project will take place on January 20, 2025.
