Qatar Airways presents its first range of fully vegan gourmet dishes
Qatar Airways introduced the first range of fully vegan dishes to its a la carte menu for Business Class passengers on all flights. Designed to satisfy the growing demand for this style of food while raising the culinary experience of passengers when traveling with the airline.
[dropcap]V[/dropcap]egan dishes use only the freshest ingredients of local and international origin and are available to all Business Class passengers flying from the hub of the Doha airline, Hamad International Airport, and selected flights to Doha.
The Chief Executive of the Qatar Airways Group, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, says: “We always strive to provide our customers with authentic and indulgent experiences. We are delighted to incorporate a vegan choice into the main course of our onboard menu. , offering our passengers more of a lifestyle choice that redefines the expectations of a five-star airline”.
Designed with sustainability and flavor, Qatar Airways’ range of vegan dishes includes smoked moutabel, courgette spirals with arrabbiata sauce, tofu and spinach tortellini, Asian tofu barbecue, noodles, chives and shiitake, fried tofu with vegetarian tajine, couscous cauliflower and kalamata bruschetta, chickpea flour omelet.
The airline also offers a wide selection of special meals to meet different dietary requirements. Passengers can request a special meal up to 24 hours before the flight.
Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC), an exclusive catering supplier at Hamad International Airport, ensures that all meals on board are prepared with the highest quality, using the best and freshest ingredients. With an extraordinary area of 69,000 square meters, QACC is one of the largest autonomous catering facilities in the world.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, the airline has applied all necessary health and safety measures on board, including food preparation and service.
Business-class meals are served covered on a tray instead of a table, and passengers are offered a cutlery package as an alternative to individual service, in an effort to minimize contact between the crew and passengers.
Qatar Airways also introduced single-use menu cards and refreshing sealed wipes. Economy-class meals and cutlery are served sealed, as usual, and the menu cards have been temporarily discontinued.
