The Lisbon venue welcomed, with two sold-out concerts, one of the most successful bands of the 80s and 90s, for a night in which a generation influenced by their music, once again sang at the top of their lungs “Sete Mares” or “Por Quem Não Esqueci”, among many others, was beautiful!
Sétima Legião are part of the history of Portuguese music, in 1982, when they emerged in a very busy and rich musical panorama, the band of Pedro Oliveira (voice and guitar), Rodrigo Leão (bass and keys), Nuno Cruz (drums, percussion), Gabriel Gomes (accordion), Paulo Marinho (bagpipes, flutes), Ricardo Camacho (keys), Paulo Abelho (percussion, samplers) and Francisco Menezes (lyrics, choirs), was one of the most successful and quality bands musical.
30 years after Rodrigo Leão, Pedro Oliveira and Nuno Cruz launched this great project, they came together again to remember all those successes that enchanted several generations, their albums, A Um Deus Desconhecido (1984), Mar D’Outubro ( 1987) and De Um Tempo Ausente (1989) launched Sétima Legião to musical stardom, which was consolidated with O Fogo (1992), Auto de Fé (1994) and Sexto Sentido (1999).
The debut single had the signature of Miguel Esteves Cardoso, in the lyrics, “Glória”, the beginning of musical and poetic quality that would distinguish them in Portuguese music throughout their career.
The radio, the compilations and the two volumes of A História da Sétima Legião kept the band’s memory alive and attracted some fans who hadn’t yet been born when the band left the stage, as we can see, spread throughout the Capitólio audience.
Marked by nostalgia, and curiosity to hear some of the less active members of the band again, and timeless songs, the emotion of all the members was felt, as they once again played together the songs that marked generations. Some of these musicians continued in other important projects, such as Madredeus, Gaiteiros de Lisboa or Cindy Kat, highlighting the brilliant solo career of Rodrigo Leão.
